Install a Factorize plugin
You download one zip and upload it in WordPress. It takes about two minutes. You need to be an administrator of the site, and most modules need WooCommerce active.
- 1
Download the zip
Open the module on the Plugins page or on the Download page and click its download button. Keep the file as a .zip. Do not unzip it. If your browser unzips it by itself (Safari does), turn off “Open safe files after downloading” in Safari’s settings, or use Chrome or Firefox for this step.
- 2
Open the uploader
Sign in to your site’s WordPress admin. In the left menu choose Plugins, then Add New Plugin. At the top of that page, click Upload Plugin.
- 3
Choose the zip and install
Click Choose File, pick the zip you downloaded, then click Install Now. WordPress unpacks it and shows a list of what it did.
- 4
Activate it
Click Activate Plugin. Nothing is live for your customers until you turn on what you want in the next step.
- 5
Open Factorize
A new Factorize item appears in the left menu. Open it, find your module, and follow its settings. Each module’s page in the docs shows exactly where its settings are. The Factorize dashboard also lists every module you have not installed yet, each with a Download link.
Installing the theme
The Empire Tools theme goes in through Appearance, not Plugins. Choose Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme, pick its zip, click Install Now, then Activate. Your plugins keep working with any theme.
Do I need a license key?
Most modules do not. They work with no key and never contact us. A key is only for the AI features in Vision, Market, Assistant, Blog, Simulate. A free key gives you 50 AI tokens a month for one site. Get it in My account, then open Factorize → License in your site and paste it in.
Updating
Updates arrive in Plugins like any other plugin. When a new version is out, the plugin shows “There is a new version” with an Update now link, and the number on Dashboard → Updates goes up. Click it. Your settings stay.
To update by hand, upload the new zip the same way as the first time. WordPress will say the plugin is already installed. Click Replace current with uploaded. Your settings stay here too.
Moving a key to a new site
A key works on one site at a time. Install the plugin on the new site first, the same way as above. Then in My account open the key and choose Move or deactivate. Enter the new address to move it, or deactivate it on the old site and paste the key in Factorize → License on the new one. You can move a key a few times a month. If you are stuck, ask us and we will move it.
“The uploaded file exceeds upload_max_filesize”
Some hosts only allow small uploads, as low as 2 MB. The largest single module zip here is 6.4 MB. If WordPress says the file is too big, pick one fix:
- Ask your host to raise
upload_max_filesizeandpost_max_sizeto 64M. Most hosts do it in a minute. - Raise it yourself if your host lets you: in your host’s PHP settings, or add
upload_max_filesize = 64Mandpost_max_size = 64Mtophp.inior.user.ini. - Skip the uploader. Unzip the file on your computer. Using your host’s File Manager or FTP, copy the folder into
wp-content/plugins/(themes go inwp-content/themes/). Then activate it in Plugins.
The suite zip
The suite zip (21.3 MB) holds the theme and every stable module, each in its own folder. WordPress’s uploader installs one plugin per zip, so it cannot take the suite zip as it is. Unzip it on your computer, then copy only the folders you want into wp-content/plugins/ and wp-content/themes/, as in the last fix above. If you only want one or two modules, it is quicker to download their own zips.
