A title and description for every page and product, tags for sharing, and an SEO check that tells you what to fix.

== Description ==

Factorize SEO is the SEO half of Factorize Optimizer, moved into its own small plugin. Your existing titles and descriptions carry over: it uses the same post fields and the same settings key, so there is nothing to import.

* **A title and a meta description** for every page, post and product, in a box on the edit screen with character counters.
* **Open Graph and Twitter tags**, so a shared link shows a picture, a title and a summary.
* **An SEO check** for robots.txt, the XML sitemap, your catalog (missing descriptions, long titles, duplicate titles, untidy addresses, pictures without alt text) and a few real pages (title, description, headings, indexing, canonical link, sharing tags), in plain words with the fix beside each.
* **What search engines may index:** a canonical link on the home page, shop and categories (paginated pages point to themselves, sorted and filtered lists to the plain one), noindex for search results, the cart, checkout and account, filtered shop lists and empty categories, product pictures in the WordPress sitemap and robots.txt lines for add-to-cart links. Each is a setting, on by default.
* **Steps aside** when Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress or The SEO Framework is active: it then reads and writes that plugin's own fields and prints nothing.

= With Factorize Optimizer =

While Factorize SEO is active the Optimizer prints no SEO tags of its own, but keeps its SEO & AI tab: the AI writes titles, descriptions, alt text and short descriptions into the same fields this plugin prints. The Write with AI tab here, and the Write with AI button on each check finding, open those AI fixes.

= With Factorize Schema =

Schema prints the sharing tags (with price and stock on products) when it is active, so they are not printed twice. Factorize SEO then prints only titles and descriptions.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the folder to wp-content/plugins and activate it.
2. Open Factorize → SEO and press Run the check.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it need a license? =
No. It works with no license and makes no outside calls on a page view.

= Is anything imported from the Optimizer? =
No. The titles and descriptions are in the same post fields (_fzo_seo_title and _fzo_meta_description).

= What happens to my titles and descriptions if I remove the plugin? =
They stay in your database, in those same fields. The settings and the last check are removed.

== Changelog ==

= 1.1.0 =
* New: canonical links on the home page, shop, categories and archives; noindex for filtered and sorted shop lists, empty categories, search results, cart, checkout and account; product pictures in the sitemap; robots.txt lines for add-to-cart links; sharing picture at least 1200 px wide with its size; length help under the title and description fields; the check probes the noindex rules, flags narrow sharing pictures and titles over 60 characters, links each finding to where it is fixed (category edit screen, product, setting) and samples only products a visitor can buy.
* New: a meta description and SEO title on categories and tags (with a fallback from the category text); a description for any page that has none (from its text, or its name and the store); image alt text in the sharing tags; cart, checkout, account and shipping classes out of the sitemap.

= 1.0.0 =
* First release: the SEO fields, Open Graph and Twitter tags and the SEO check, moved from Factorize Optimizer 1.13.
